James Atkins - Midnight
2 Views • Jun 12, 2014
Description
so entrancing to watch, so painful to see.
The briefest of glimpses, the catch of a tune,
a window thrown wide on a deep harmony.
Timeless and haunting, black and melodic
Hope wrapped in starlight entangled with fate.
Familiar and friendly, such warmth in her smile
I'm caught in her music a moment too late
And faster than fast, the window swings shut,
Leaving eyes singing stories in wordless refrain.
Memory jumps to catch haunting scraps,
Tears start to fall, for I’ve lost her again.
