I’m sitting
Staring
Why am I so dazed
Why can’t
I move
The dance of flames
Keeps me in a trance
I can’t find any thoughts
The fire has swept my memory
I am not thinking about the past
The present
The future
No emotion
People talk, but I hear nothing
There’s only one thing I can seem to do
Feed the fire
Keep the flames going
Make the forbidden dance grow
I watch for hours
It grows late
The dance fades
I start to feel again
I start to remember
People’s words enter my ears
The dance dies
Pitch black
