Jake Gassiot - Decision

I’ve been sitting here
For hours on end
Thinking, crying
I have decided
I get out of tossed bed
Get the knife from my work filled desk
And go to the bathroom
I stare at the mirror thinking
Questions flow through my mind
But they only reinforce the pain
I grip the knife tight
My knuckles turn white
I bring my quivering arm close
I lay the cold steel blade on my skin
I hesitate, but not for long
I push the razor sharp blade into my arm
The skin splits like the Red Sea did for Moses
Blood seeping, it’s not good enough
I lean in and press pulling a little
I feel the cold blade slice threw my flesh
Blood no longer seeps
It’s now pouring fast
I have done it
I am finished
I sit down and lean against the wall
A pool of death surrounds me
The lights start to fade
I fall, my face in the scarlet pool
That hate filled, pain filled blood
I have almost cleansed my whole body
The blood still flows
I see only red
No more hate
No more pain
No more,
Me
