The vast majority of these passengers are low-income garment and industrial factory workers from Dhaka. Driven by the deep desire to celebrate Eid with their families, thousands take extreme risks by climbing onto train roofs due to severe overcrowding inside coaches and limited transport options.

While the emotional drive to reach loved ones is understandable, roof-riding presents deadly hazards—from high-voltage overhead lines and bridge structures to sudden speed changes.
