Island 2

The animation titled Generic Islands, Island 2 - in reference to the Generic City of Rem Khoolas - is a reflection on contemporary urbanism, views by the artist as sanitized, historically empty and strangely Edenic. At the same time, these Utopian microcosms are inspired by the touristic cities around the Mediterranean littoral, where Sagon grew up and every day architecture she encounters in London where she currently lives. These inhabitable islands, where the concept of door and window have long-time been forgotten, can digitally be visited by the viewer
