It's funny: Some people just don't like the term "Memory Palace." But that's a sad reason for people not to learn to use this amazing memory technique and ultimate form of mnemonics for effortless and easy recall of important information.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what you call them, so long as you learn how to use them and allow them to serve your memory needs.
