Introducing Donald Harford

Donald Harford Jr. is a financial professional based in Houston, Texas. He has worked for VAALCO Energy, Inc. for the past three years, currently serving as a Senior FP&A Analyst. He is committed to his work and strives for daily, continuous improvement in everything he does.

Donald Harford Jr. graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting. Additionally, he is certified as a public accountant through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.

Donald began his career in the financial sector at Tetra Technologies, where he served as a Financial Systems Administrator, Internal Auditor, and Reporter. He then went on to work at Desroches Partners, preparing and advising complex tax-structured companies. These companies ranged in size from small franchises to large, publicly-traded companies with revenue up to $500 million.

In 2017, Donald Harford Jr. started with VAALCO Energy as a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst. He eventually worked his way his role as the company’s Senior FP&A Analyst. In this position, Donald has successfully developed financial models that have allowed the company to cut costs significantly. He has also successfully improved shareholders’ returns through a thorough understanding of ROI and value-added drilling programs, acquisition targets, and other projects.

When he isn’t working, Donald Harford Jr. enjoys spending time giving back to his community. He volunteers with the Salvation Army, where he helps to provide meals for people experiencing homelessness. He also works as a mentor through the Best Buddies program, which matches mentors and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Donald Harford Jr. strives to be a professional in every aspect of his career and life. He is committed to continuously learning and growing as an individual and as a financial professional. He believes that challenges play a critical role in shaping us, so he is never afraid of potential obstacles.
