Introducing Brian T. Petty

Based in Washington, D.C., Brian Petty is a General Partner of HUNT PETTY LP and a member of the District of Columbia and State of Virginia Bar Associations. He has served as Executive Vice President for Global Government Affairs for the International Association of Drilling Contractors, and is a graduate of Georgetown University with his J.D. He received his M.A. in Literature from the University of Virginia. Prior to his joining IADC, Brian served in Washington as the State of Texas Energy Counsel. During his time at IAD, Brian Petty Brian served in Washington as the State of Texas Energy Counsel.

Along with his business partner, Brian Petty founded the One Gulf Foundation to promote sound environmental practices for oil and gas extraction in the Gulf of Mexico and the wider Caribbean, beginning with Cuba. As a result of this, a joint US-Cuba Maritime Treaty for mutual assistance in the event of offshore oil spills was created.

To date, Hunt Petty LP has held 3 major conferences -- in Havana, Florida, and Guyana, with the sole focus of bringing environmental and industry experts together with Government officials to develop common approaches to develop best practices for offshore oil and gas exploration and production. Brian and his business partner are currently planning even more of these conferences in this region.

In his spare time, Brain T. Petty enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and enjoying beautiful Washington, D.C.
