ICD-10 Impact on Providers

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed a regulation that will replace the ICD-9-Clinical Modification code sets, now used to report healthcare diagnoses and procedures, with advanced ICD-10 code sets. This specificity will benefit patients and doctors (by giving more detailed diagnosis and treatment information), payers (by more accurately defining services) and international organizations that monitor worldwide disease.
