Nicala Bowe, from Miami Gardens, USA, filmed the clip from inside her hotel, showing debris, possibly pieces of metal roofing flying violently through the air.
The howling winds and sheets of rain make the hotel scene almost unrecognisable, as palm trees bend with the storm’s power on full display.
The dramatic footage was posted on TikTok by Nicala’s worrying mother, where it gathered over 220,000 views, shocking viewers with the hurricane’s strength.
One commenter said: “My mum is also there and not heard anything for 6 hours. Hope your daughter is safe and well.”
Another said: “My sister is also in the same hotel. I can't get hold of her. We are worried sick.”
