How to Pack Smart for Your Cruise By CruiseCompete.com
Description
Hi. Bob Levinstein from http://www.CruiseCompete.com here—where travel agents compete to offer you the best cruise deal.
With the variety of activities both onboard and on shore, the restrictions and fees airlines now place on luggage, and the limited storage space in some cabins, packing for your cruise can be quote a challenge. Here are a few tips to improve your experience.
1. Rather than separate "his" and "hers" luggage, include clothes for both of you in each suitcase you take on your cruise. Should suitcase get lost en route, you each still have clothes to wear.
2. Pack light. Try to pick clothes that can be re-used, and remember that self-service laundries are usually available right on your deck. Bring quarters, a small bottle of detergent and use them.
3. Pack carry-ons with care. Hard-to-replace items like your identification, tickets, and prescription medicines should be with you at all times. A quick change of clothes for when you first board the ship makes it easier to relax while you wait for your luggage to be delivered to your cabin.
4. Use zip-lock freezer bags in case of leaks of shampoo or other liquids in your luggage.
5. Don't forget a few emergency items. A mini-flashlight for extra light in your room and a small travel alarm clock with a light-up dial. A pair of scissors along with duct tape and safety pins are good for quick repairs. Small walkie-talkies come in handy when trying to stay in touch on the ship or in port.
6. Tag and mark your bags with the baggage tags sent from the cruise line as well as your own luggage tags. Brightly-colored duct tape generously applied will make your bags very easy to spot.
Finally, relax and don't worry about anything you might have forgotten. Wherever your cruise may take you, they'll have stores there. Vacations are about reducing stress - this should start when you pack.
