Description
In this video, I'm going to show you how to make a homemade dessert step by step with an easy recipe you can make in your own kitchen:
**Ingredients for approximately 8-10 pieces:**
- 500 g all-purpose flour (strong or plain)
- 10 g salt
- 250 ml cold water
- 350 g unsalted butter (cold, but pliable)
- Extra flour for dusting
**Preparation:**
**Prepare the dough base:**
- Mix flour, salt, and cold water until you have a smooth dough. Don't overwork it. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
**Prepare the butter:**
- Place the butter between two sheets of plastic wrap and flatten it into a 1 cm thick square.
**Incorporate the butter:**
- Roll out the dough into a cross shape, place the butter in the center, and fold the ends over as if you were closing an envelope.
**Make the folds:**
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and fold it into thirds (like a triptych). Rotate the dough 90° and repeat.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes between each fold.
- Make 6 folds in total.
**Use or store:**
- After the last fold, let it rest for at least 1 hour before using.
- Done! You now have a flaky, crispy pastry, perfect for tarts, cakes, or sweet pastries.
Alternatively, you can buy it at your nearest supermarket, but remember to choose a butter-based puff pastry, as it will have the best flavor and texture.
