How objects of postal history are collected

Unlike current forms, pre-philatelic letters consisted of one or more sheets on which the content was written, which were additionally folded so that the message remains hidden, and on the outer part the address was written. The letter formed in that way would be sealed, there weren’t envelopes like today's at that time, so the letter was posted without the envelope.
