How did Lyft start?

Lyft is a service whose mobile-phone application facilitates peer-to-peer ridesharing by enabling passengers who need a ride to request one from drivers who have a car. In the beginning there was a man who had a car and no friends. This man went on to create Lyft. This is the story of how Lyft got started.
