Description
Our business correspondent Kim Hye-sung was lucky enough to head over there....,and is in the studio with us today to tell us more about CES 2019.
So it must've been an exciting time and I hope you aren't too jetlagged, but we'd love to hear what you thought were this year's highlights.
Right I'll get to that in a moment.
Some background first though.
So the CES is now in its 52nd year.
It's the world's biggest tech show where global tech companies show off their latest products and innovations that will drive trends for the year and beyond. More than 45-hundred companies, 180-thousand people from 150 countries attended the event.
This year, AI, robots, smart homes, smart cars stood out from the crowd.
Artificial intelligence, in particular, was seen in almost every product.
Global tech titans, including Samsung and LG Electronics, unveiled their concept of smart homes, where all devices and home appliances are connected.
Smart homes are nothing new, but there's been an upgrade in IoT.
Using AI technology, fridges, vacuum cleaners, washing machines can be used via sensors or voice recognition.
There are even appliances that help you fold laundry, so you don't have to actually use your hands and save time.
Another highlight was the robots, from industrial robots for manufacturing, to health robots for people who have trouble walking or to help with rehabilitation after an injury.
What I found really cute were the companion robots, Japanese companies like Sony really nailed this.
Pet robots like cats and dogs, that can interact and relate to people using sensors and machine learning technology, possibly for children or people with allergy.
