Heidi Fiore - I’m Sorry

My own words just don’t work
They escape, they fail
There is no way to explain,
To make you understand

I’ve been awful, I’ve been cold, I’ve been petty,
I don’t blame you for your reaction
None of this has been fair,
Life just hasn’t been fair

Why does this all have to happen?
Why can’t things ever work right?
One minute, you’re saying you love me,
Then the next, we are in a fight.

I feel that I am the reason,
But I’m not the only one
The fault is both of ours,
But I understand where I went wrong
I can’t blame you for being yourself

So I apologize, “mea culpa”
I was wrong, and I was hurt
But being without you,
Is a pain so much worse.
