HDMI was, and is, a Mistake

Update, and remake to my older HDMI video.

DisplayPort is an infinitely better standard than HDMI. Though, even I admit that I'm biased. Don't be dissuaded from using HDMI, if your device has it already; if it's there, use it to your heart's content. Just also know that HDMI is on the losing side of a battle, vs. USB4 and DisplayPort 2.0.

That said, I do understand what HDMI has become, but a lot of the new features amount to fluff; just meant to pad out it's pathetic life. HDMI does not, and never needed to exist. DVI was, and still is, good enough, even if it actually needs another RCA jack to be on-par with HDMI's built in digital audio. At precisely no point did HDMI ever strictly "need" to exist.
