Hand Made Jewellery is almost as old as mankind itself. Many new techniques were introduced over the centuries but none has prevailed more than the hand made jewellery. Handmade jewellery gives you a uniqueness that you will not have with any other type of manufactured jewellery. In today’s jewellery industry there are two basic ways to produce jewellery. First there is the traditional hand made jewellery and then there is the industrial type of jewellery manufacturing which is to produce multiple pieces by way of casting. They are distinct differences between the two.
Hand made jewellery is usually produced by jewellers who have undergone an intense apprenticeship. Because hand made jewellery making has so many different facets, the training to become a qualified jeweller is very demanding. During this time the young jeweller learns about the physical qualities of metals. Forging, stretching, annealing and many other physical impacts on the gold are all aspects during training. Another branch in the education of a young jeweller is of course learning to design for the individual requirements of clients.
