Göran Gustafsson - The Gatekeeper

Standing at the gates of Eden
I was not allowed to pass
“Not today, sir! ” the keeper shouts
And then he turned to me his ass

Waiting for the day to come
I read my book anew
Years went by and time ran fast
But no one else went through

Questions tumbled in my head
When keeper finally revealed:
“This gate was yours and yours alone
But now it’s closed and sealed”

Turning to the end of pages
I saw an ancient find
The keeper of the gates of Eden was
But a shadow in my mind.
