Göran Gustafsson - Slow Train Blues

Went to the station to catch the train
Patiently waiting in the pouring rain
Took neither my bag nor my dog today
Couldn't hope for a further delay

Then I hear the engine's roar
Can't imagine I stand at the door
Whistle howls like a wolf at night
There's no time for another fight

Slowly winding like venomous snakes
Train comes rolling in and brakes
Right on time but a one-way track
Life goes on no turning back

Station master shouts at the horde
Doors closing! Time to board!
And the dog that I had to leave behind
Was the very last thing on my mind
