Göran Gustafsson - I Was Given
1 Views • Nov 08, 2014
Description
Reading it now has become rather slow
Behind every beautiful word of gold
I can sense some kind of cold
The story I’m reading is soon out of age
Not last word yet, I’m turnin' the page.
I was given this room and evicted ‘gainst my will
Looks nice and warm but it gives me less thrill
Every tube in the pluming is rusty and weak
Soon I expect there will be some leak
The windows are dirty and dim for the sight
Not all dark yet, they still give some light.
I was given this road to walk and to travel
Sometimes it’s even but often with gravel
Facing the crossroads questions arise
Without any answers I just throw the dice
'Neath the lily of the valley I rest my head
Not road's end yet, but it's lying ahead
