GOOGLE ALERTS MISLEADING EVENT MARKUPS

Lately, Google has been receiving negative feedback from its users. The users complain of seeing non-events like coupons and vouchers in the search result where events snippets should have appear.

Google has posted a blog entry about misleading event markup code:

“We’ve seen a number of publishers in the coupons or vouchers space use the ‘event’ markup to describe their offers as much as using a discount voucher can be a very special thing, that doesn’t make coupons or vouchers ‘events’ or ‘sale Events’.
