The pot once in a fit of rage
said to the kettle: “You are beige! ”
Refraining from a rage attack,
the kettle did not say: “You’re black! ”
for it was of a different mettle
than the offending pot’s. The kettle
declared, “For insults I have not
the time, you color-conscious pot!
Though you are blowing off your steam
you do not hurt my self esteem.”

The moral: Beige and black and white
are all p.c., exactly right,
and it is wrong to think one color
than any other color duller,
and kettles cannot be a foil
for pots once either starts to boil.
Both surely ought to be reminded
it’s better to be color-blinded,
and people should stop giving grades
to one another based on shades.
