A tiny dingle Beverlywood,
to Pico south and west
of Robertson, where people should
on Shabbos wear their best.

To stroll among its trees and stray
round Duckworth Circle, Reeves,
and sing zemiros on that day
when everyone believes.

Dear reader! I know that there are
towns lovelier than ours,
on foot on Shabbos, not by car,
is far beyond my powers.

So long as I am into meat,
I can’t to Milkwood go;
so Beverly is where I’ll greet
the Jews who Shabbos show.

I don’t think that I ever will
abandon Woods of Beverly
even for fair Beverly Hills––
quote me saying “Neverly! ”

Inspired by three verses of “Under Milk Wood” by Dylan Thomas:

Dear Gwalia! I know there are
Towns lovelier than ours,
and fairer hills and loftier far,
and groves more full of flowers….

A tiny dingle is Milk Wood
By golden Grove 'neath Grongar,
But let me choose and oh!
I should Love all my life and longer

To stroll among our trees and stray
In Goosegog Lane, on Donkey Down,
And hear the Dewi sing all day,
And never, never leave the town.
