This is a bright (at full power) and dimmable bulb that produces abundant and relatively diffuse LED light. This is a fairly heavy bulb, weighing in at about 11 ounces (most of this is to accommodate a large, ribbed heatsink).

Perfect performance on a dimmer. It comes with a 5-year warranty from G7. Uses about 20% of the power of its 85-watt incandescent analog.

Don't let the sticker price scare you; the energy savings over its life will make this a bargain compared to shorter-lived incandescent equivalents that you will replace more frequently as they burn through five times the electricity.
