Description

From Hell It Came is a 1957 American science-fiction horror film directed by Dan Milner and written by Richard Bernstein, from a story by Bernstein and Jack Milner. It was released by Allied Artists in August 1957, on a double bill with The Disembodied (1957).

A wrongfully accused South Seas prince is executed, and returns as a walking tree stump out for revenge.

'From Hell It Came' delivers unintentional laughs and campy charm that make it enjoyable so-bad-it's-good entertainment, with its unique walking tree monster earning nostalgic affection from fans. However, the film suffers from wooden acting, absurd logic where victims can't outrun a slow-moving tree, laughably bad dialogue, and deeply problematic racist portrayals of indigenous people with patronizing white savior themes that haven't aged well. Best watched in a group setting.
