Freshman Year on Super8

Shot from September 2015 to May 2016 in Saratoga Springs NY and surrounding area, with my 1970 Sankyo Super CM 300. Film: Kodak 200T Color Negative Super8. Tunes: Gentle Spirit - Jonathan Wilson, Life's a Gas - T.Rex, Flying - The Beatles. Philosophical Note: Though I've always been torn about the act of recording in that in its power to make permanent, it also has the power to diminish that which gives the moment its reality- its presence- I have found through my experience filming that when I do deem a moment worthy enough to take a shot, I remember those moments even better, partially due to the substantially more involved process in getting the focus and exposure right etc... but more because I have actively engaged an awareness to the present moment in all its temporality, its beauty, hilarity, and simplicity. And another thing- it's astonishing much this footage looks like it could have been shot 50 years ago- just goes to show how its all the same. Time is relative.
