Commercial Window Shield installs fragment retention window films, designed to increase the shatter resistance of glass during a bomb blast or violent weather event. The objective of the application is to prevent glass shards from becoming airborne should the window be shattered. A number of high explosive tests were conducted in an open-air environment to determine the hazard mitigation value of security films applied to commercially available windows. This test presents the shatter resistance of a window with no film attachment. In comparison protected glass, filmed by Commercial Window Shield, provided significant hazard reduction with regard to flying glass.
