Fractal Nanostructures

This is a small animation that shows how one day it might be possible to construct fractal metamaterials, that are lightweight as air but hard as diamonds. The idea is to use two kinds of atoms or molecules, that attach to each other only in special combinations, so they construct a fractal pattern.
