Cardiac first aid is critical in emergencies involving heart-related issues. Here’s a quick guide:

Recognizing Cardiac Arrest

Signs: Sudden collapse, no pulse, unresponsiveness, and no breathing or only gasping.


Steps to Take

1. Call Emergency Services: Dial emergency numbers (e.g., 911) immediately.


2. Start CPR:

Chest Compressions: Place hands on the center of the chest. Push hard and fast (about 100-120 compressions per minute).

Breaths: If trained, provide rescue breaths (30 compressions followed by 2 breaths). If untrained, focus on compressions only.



3. Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator): If available, turn it on and follow voice prompts. Apply pads and allow the AED to analyze the heart rhythm.



Post-Rescue

Continue CPR until emergency services arrive or the person shows signs of life.


Prevention Tips

Regular check-ups.

Know the risk factors (high blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking, etc.).

Engage in heart-healthy activities (exercise, balanced diet).
