FileMaker has the ability to create related records via the the portal by checking the Allow Creation of Records in the Relationship Graph. Unfortunately, any button or icon in the portal row shows up in all rows, including the next potential record. This creates an anomaly as clicking the button, such as a delete button, doesn't do anything. FileMaker Pro 13 now has the ability to hide layout objects so developers can now allow the creation of related records via the portal without having a lingering button/icon.
