EYELID SURGERY
This condition may be alleviated with blepharoplasty, or cosmetic surgery in the eyelid to remove excess fat. The rate of the procedure has improved 190% since 1992 (American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 2001). The appearance of bags could be a result of changes within the skin, muscle, or fat around the eyes or may be caused by brow drooping. Through careful physical examination, the doctor can decide which of these conditions will be the reason for the individual's concem. If the forehead skin and musculature are now displaced, then drooping of the brow might cause fullness of the top eyelid. If so, blepharoplasty alone won't correct the individual's condition and will create a shorter distance between the eyebrow along with the eyelashes, which provides the individual a severe look.
