Description
Supplies were parachuted into Casey Station in Antarctica in mid-September, treating expeditioners stationed there to fresh stocks and a glimpse of the outside world.
The Australian Defence Force RAAF C-17A Globemaster dropped the supplies 300 metres, which included the GoPro that filmed the drop, attached to a pallet of snowblower parts.
In a post accompanying this video on Facebook, Casey station leader Rebecca Jeffcoat said it was their “first sign of life in over seven months.”
“And it’s all over so quickly,” she said. Credit: Australian Antarctic Division via Storyful
