Our name "Opes" is derived from the Latin term for the creation of wealth, an overriding tenet by which we conduct our business. Our mission is to create value - to enhance and unlock shareholder wealth in companies, whether through investment or our dependable, expert and innovative advice.

We founded Opes Capital in 2007 as a niche corporate advisory boutique to provide specialist merger and acquisition advice to listed and privately owned companies, institutions and entrepreneurs in the private sector.

Opes Capital was established by two principals of Invescape Growth Partnership South Africa and Bright Equity Infrastructure Management, both Private Equity management companies with combined funds under management of R500 million.
