Expectation masked by denial
Blissful ignorance encouraged by the bottle
Reality is to blame

Honesty too much to bear for this man
Ostrich fallacy enables the sham
Approach of the end game

Body and soul full, of emptiness
Breathing and moving under duress
Each day is the same

Killing time but it won't die
Gravity grows and lowers the sky
I twist the knife again

Aimlessly drifting, each day lasts a week
Reclusive existence, not wanting to speak
Still a man but only in name

Clinging bitterly to each ray of hope
Tunnel vision, complete lack of scope
It's such a shame

Monotonous time without satisfaction
Each action produces a neutral reaction
All stimulation is tame

Disturbing thoughts known only to some
Justification refuses to come
All excuses are lame

Slow realisation leads to acceptance
Of the need for medical assistance
A solution came.
