Description

Such a transient element
Unless luck, fate and planning combine.
As I sit here in my joyously tiny pile of stone
With material gains around me
I ponder their value.
The value is not measured in filthy lucre,
They're far more precious.
Before me the contained inferno popping and spitting
Ensconced within eternal iron and rock.
My ever giving bass stands at my right hand.
Over my left shoulder awaits
The stalwart, charismatic V-twin.
Enveloped in sumptuous black leather
I bask in their glory.
Inexplicable telephony enables me
To discuss another day with my son.
It'll soon be weekend and we'll jam again
Then a brief Euroventure with like minded souls.
Fragrant dark ale washes through my senses
And it occurs to me that it's still a week or more
Until I return to my chosen task.
Yeah, I'm single.
I've just spent the day walking with my best friend
And I love her.
Vibrant chords and beats invade my mind
But I sacrifice them
Because the need to write is stronger.
Another almost perfect day.
