Erica Cuillin - Wake-Up Call

It's time to open up your eyes.
This is a reality you can't disguise.
I know there's not much you can do,
But at least make an effort to see what's true.

I've been trying to tell you this for years
But your eyes glaze over, you shut your ears.
You give me the evils, say I'm unkind
Then run the the refuge in your mind.

If you open your eyes, you'll see
The truth can only set you free.
Please listen to what I have to say
Before it takes my breath away.

I know you're paralysed by fear
But this is something you need to hear.
Reality's hard, life's no easy ride,
But with courage you'll walk to the other side.

Your whole face trembles. You sit and stare
And look through me like I'm not there.
You can't change the truth by closing a door.
I'm just the narrator of what we all saw.

How can you think that I'm telling lies
When you saw it all with your very own eyes?
Why can't you hear what I have to say
Before it takes my sanity away?

Wake-up call for you, sleepy one:
Time to face facts, make decisions, move on.
If you sow nothing, then that's what you'll reap.
You're only as sick as the secrets you keep.

Open your eyes. Why can't you see
If you don't face the truth you will never be free?
I need you to listen to me today,
Before it takes my life away.
