Electric Lady - Dearest Deric

There are certain things I'd rather keep a secret
But my love for you isn't one of them
Maybe it's time to take a vacation
Away from social media
A fantasy world that disappoints me every time
I wouldn't mind being closer to heaven
As long as we're destined to be together
I wake up wondering why the sun never shines on me
My thoughts are untamed, yet I'm not ashamed
The smell of your cologne seems to follow me wherever I go
I swear I'm not losing my mind
Oh dearest Deric
I'm not a saint when it comes to falling in love
Yet the doors are wide-open
And the breeze just flows in
And in the midst of all this
My dreams seem so dreary
Maybe it's because of the emotional space I'm in
The hearts, the roses, the big yellow bows
These are a few of my favorite things
I believe in us
I believe in the sun
I believe in heaven
And all it shall become.
