Educating Marmalade (1982) (Episode 1)

Episode 1: Cringe Hill. Marmalade Atkins is one of the naughtiest schoolgirls around. Coming from a wealthy background of a businessman farmer father and social climbing dipsomaniac mother, they are appalled at their daughter showing them up. So when the local social worker Mrs Allgood suggests sending her to a local comprehensive school, they jump at the chance. And Marmalade finds herself in a tricky situation when she is the target of two bullies in a school where there seems to be no rules at all!

Starring Charlotte Coleman, John Bird, Lynda La Plante, Gillian Raine, G B Zoot Money, Peter Blake, Ann Way, Caroline Hutchinson, Tony Osobo, plus among the pupils are early appearances for Kathy Burke, Oona Kirsch, Cindy Marshall-Day, Janet Palmer, Kelvin O'Mard, David Nunn, Ian Sears and Mark Farmer, who previously played Gary Hargreaves in Grange Hill and whose show this is spoofing. This was originally broadcast on October 25th 1982 and was the first thing that Charlotte Coleman appeared in after Worzel Gummidge finished in 1981.
