Educating Marmalade (1982) (Episode 7)

Ep 7: Nanny. Marmalade Atkins may of met her match at last when social worker Mrs Allgood has a brainwave and hires her old nanny to look after Marmalade. She is so strict she even terrifies her parents, but what is Marmalade to do when half the time she is tied and gagged in a pushchair?

Starring Charlotte Coleman, John Bird, Lynda La Plante, Gillian Raine, June Ellis, John Fortune, Patsy Byrne and Joyce Grant. This is yet another clever satire dressed up in anarchy and the scene with the nannies in the park talking about their charges will raise a knowing smile even now. Also amusing to see Patsy Byrne as a nanny just 3 years before she played much the same role in Blackadder II in 1985. By the way, if you recognize the name of the Nanny June Ellis, it's possibly from the Francis Durbridge thriller The Desperate People from 1963.
