The past if glad gives you encouragement;
The past if sad makes joy felt better now;
The past if bad is better buried best;
The past if unforgettable is good.

Memories of childhood years remain all life;
Memories are evergreen or transient;
Memories must goad us live a life better;
Memories should not raise guilt feelings today.

Memories are good to think about some day;
Memories are dreams that gladden hearts some way;
Memories shouldn’t make your present life worthless;
Memories are left to come and go at will.
