Behind my umptine sufferings,
I see God’s plan for me;
Behind Life’s crosses I carry,
I see God’s blessing me.

Behind world’s acts of treachery,
God’s Hand does protect me;
Behind each time of temptation,
God purifies my soul.

Behind my pangs of hunger felt,
God gives me satiety;
Behind my pangs of sex-urges,
God bestows piety.

Behind my many blunders made,
God gives me new foresight;
Behind my failures in my life,
I see how God saves me.

Behind my days of solitude,
God speaks in special ways;
Behind my every good deed done,
God lengthens my earth days,

Behind my times of ecstasy,
God cuts me down to size;
Behind my thoughts of fantasy,
God warns me of more vice.

Behind the veil of sins of mine,
God cautions me of hell;
Behind my acts of penitence,
God tells my soul is well!
