Dog population control programme a hit in Hisar
Description
Hisar (Haryana), Apr 08 (ANI): Haryana’s Hisar district has succeeded in bringing down the population of street dogs and also reduce rabies cases by sterilising them under the National Rabies Control Programme (NRCP). The Humane Society International (HSI), a global animal protection group, began the project in March last year, which has been a success. So far, 18,500 dogs have been sterilised and 75,000 vaccinated under this programme. The programme funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in association with the government of Haryana, will now be executed in other parts of the state.
