Description
The Doctor attempts to flatter the vicious Captain Pike in this clip from William Hartnell's penultimate adventure as the Doctor, "The Smugglers". However, the actor playing Pike adds some unintentional innuendo to the scene when he fluffs his line - and The Doctor's response doesn't help matters!
(Note: For those who don't know, the reason the video is only a still frame with audio is because the footage for this story, along with many other earlier Doctor Who serials, was junked by the BBC a long time ago. As a result, "The Smugglers" now only exists in the form of audio recordings taken by fans at the time, and the BBC's own telesnaps for the serial.)
