DIAMOND HEAD interview - The Base Sessions

DIAMOND Head’s history is packed with stories which sound like the plot of a classic rock and roll movie. From record deals and massive shows to legal rows and in-band bust ups, the group’s lead guitarist and founding member, Brian Tatler, has seen it all. Brian called at Base Studios in Stourbridge for a Base Sessions chat with Martyn Smith about his career and more than 30 years of Diamond Head. Diamond Head formed in 1976 and became a big name in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal which spawned groups like Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and Judas Priest. One of Diamond Head’s early fans was a young drummer called Lars Ulrich who travelled from America to see the band and ended up staying at Brian’s house in Wollaston.
