Hey all,
I cut this film using footage from episodes 16-21 of "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," as dubbed by Ocean Productions. It abridges the story of Andrew Waltfeld, an antagonist in the original work, who has been re-framed as the protagonist to emphasize his design as an anti-hero. By positioning the audience's perspective behind Waltfeld, a criticism of honour cultures begins to emerge that questions the logic of men who make war their business. This is the story of a charismatic warlord whose fantasies of domination, and pursuit of fame on the battlefield, become his undoing. Waltfeld is voiced by Brian Drummond. I hope you enjoy!
I believe this work meets the criteria for "Fair Dealing" under Canadian copyright law. It has been transformed through the process of editing, where existing materials have been reorganized and new cuts were created. This unique direction renders new ideological meaning in the work, where it is no longer representative of the creative goals of the source material.
