Dennis Lambert - Butterfly
2 Views • Nov 09, 2014
Description
you know not how long-
a familiar dark about you,
within spun encasement strong-
and who you were, you didn’t know
and where you were, you couldn’t understand,
until one day a process slow
within your soul began,
and all that was, fell away
allowing bright and lively air,
and what you were couldn’t stay,
for rebirth had happened there:
and you emerged as something new
more beautiful than I could imagine.
You trembled on a branch, then flew
with rainbow wings and skyward passion.
Breathless was I to see you fly,
and may never hold you in my hand,
yet, being me, I have to try
to capture such beauty if I can.
