Alex(Bret Harrison) is a cocky, hotshot, card playing college senior who dreams of becoming a professional Texas Hold Em poker player. He doesn't yet has the skill to totally master the table but a chance encounter introduces him to retired poker legend, Tommy(Burt Reynolds). Tommy realises he can regain his own self confidence, repair his pride and win a poker championship by turning Alex into his protege.
