Description
Mark your calendars for April 25, 2025. That's when #DaysGone Remastered hits PlayStation 5 as a digital-only title.
If you already own Days Gone on PS4, good news. You can upgrade to the remastered version for just $10. But there's a catch. This offer only applies if you actually purchased the game. PlayStation Plus members who claimed it for free aren't eligible.

PC players aren't left out. The same day, you'll get access to the "Broken Road DLC" for the existing PC version.
So what's new in this remaster? A lot, actually.
The visual upgrades are immediately noticeable. Bend Studio has enhanced the lighting and shadow quality. The fog depth looks more realistic. Nighttime is darker with a more natural-looking moon. Even the blue sky appears more natural.
But this isn't just a pretty face. The remaster introduces several new game modes.
Horde Assault mode takes full advantage of PS5 hardware. While the original game topped out at 500 Freakers in a horde, the remaster pushes that number to over 800. That's a lot of zombies to deal with.
For hardcore players, there's a new Permadeath mode. You can either attempt to complete the entire game without dying once, or play on a per-act basis to avoid losing hours of progress.
Speed runners will appreciate the dedicated Speedrun mode. It tracks your playthrough time while automatically excluding cinematics.
Even the Photo Mode got an upgrade. It now offers more lighting options and instant day-night switching for perfect shots.
Kevin McAllister, Creative and Product Lead at Bend Studio, seems confident about these improvements. He says, "You'll see the difference."
The timing is interesting though. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered launches on PC just weeks earlier, on April 3. Two PlayStation zombie games releasing so close together might create some competition.
Despite Sony reportedly rejecting a Days Gone sequel, pre-orders for the remaster are performing well. This could potentially revive interest in the franchise.
Whether you're a returning player or experiencing Deacon St. John's journey for the first time, Days Gone Remastered aims to be the definitive version of this post-apocalyptic adventure.
That's all for now. This is Samantha Yates from BootItems.com. See you in the Farewell Wilderness on April 25.
