He began his club career at Sporting de Gijon, te team of his native city in Spain after moving to Real Zaragoza in 2003, his goals led him to sign for Valencia en 2005, in 2008 won his first Eurocup with the Spanish national team, two summers later Villa signed for one of the best teams in the world ( F.C.Barcelona), the same year won the first World cup for Spain. During his season with Barcelona, he won his first Champions League and many more titles. In 2011 suffered an important injury that forced him to miss the Eurocup 2012. He came back stronger than ever, and when everyone thought he was finished his football carrer, in 2014 Villa signed for Atletico de Madrid and won a Spanish League title. In the 2014 World Cup, Spain didn't even pass the group stage, and Villa played his last match with the Spanish national team. The creation of the new team of MLS (New York City) in 2015 caught his attention, and was the first player to sign, currently carry two seasons at a high level demonstrating that he has strength to score goals, in the last season won The MVP as best player of the MLS and his goals took that New York City to places of Playoffs for the first time; Villa is very happy on the American team and he still has a few years left before retiring.
